He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Vance and Virginia Dare Andrews Stewart; his brother Spanky Stewart; and his daughter-in-law Rebecca Stewart. He is survived by: his wife Joan Hodge Stewart; his son Todd Stewart of Elon; his grandchildren, Stewart, Jr., Allen and Ryan Stewart; and his nephews, Brendan and Shannon Stewart. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
