She was predeceased by: her husband James Andrew "Pete" Averett; her parents, John Early Brooks and Lenna Whitfield Brooks; her daughter Sandra Kay Averett; her stepson Robert Prichard; and her siblings, Elizabeth Lenna Brooks, Harold Earl Brooks and Felix Whitfield Brooks (Ruth).
She is survived by: her children, Trevis Brooks Averett (Vickie) of Sneads Ferry and Wanda Karen Averett of Sanford; her grandsons, Jason Heath Averett and Nolan Gregory Averett; her stepchildren, Kenny Prichard (Robin) of Tybee Island, GA, Jeff Prichard (Amy) of Gibsonville, Janet Miller (Jeff) of Burlington and Joye Dickens (Neal) of Burlington; her sisters-in-law, Doris Yarborough Brooks and Jean Daniels Averett; her stepgrandchildren, Jacob Prichard, Emily Matthewson (Nate), Clark Dickens (Erica), Layna (Sam Mca), Drew Prichard (Kristin) and Kaitlyn Prichard; and her great grandchildren, Titus, Dash and Evelyn.
