We are sad to announce that on August 3, 2025, Evdoxia Hilas Zangotsis of Burlington, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lambros Hilas and Eugenia Gatis Hilas; and her husband Ioannis N.'John'Zangotisis. She is survived by: her daughters, Evangelia'Liz'Karagounis (George) of Charlotte, Maria James (Mickey) of Archdale and Lambrini'Lisa'Bayne (Ernest) of High Point; her siblings, Styliani Kosmas of Greece and Thomas Hilas (Elizabeth) of Greece; her sister-in-law Vasiliki'Koula'Zangotsis; her grandchildren, Penelope Karagounis, Gloria York (Adam), Michael James, Eva James, Margaret James, Crystal Kafoure (William) and Nicholas Bayne; and her great grandchild Anastasia Kafoure. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Evdoxia's memory to St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church at 2150 West Front Street, Burlington, NC, 27215, or to a local charity of one's choice.
