He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Smith and Agnes Murray Smith; and his sister Beverly Hackney. He is survived by: his wife Linda S. Smith; his sons, Christopher Andrew "Drew" Smith (Jill Waddell) of Burlington and Josh Smith (Stacy) of Graham; his grandchildren, Gage, Samantha, Hunter and Aly; his sibling's children, Michele Hodge (Jimmy Westbrook) and Gray Hackney (Alicia Muck); and his great-nephew Jonathon Hodge (Samantha Mitchell).
