It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Glenda Byrd Hagood of Burlington, North Carolina, who passed away on June 10, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Granville Byrd, Sr. and Ruth White Byrd; her husband James Eddie "Dickie" Hagood; her son Jason Eddie Hagood; her granddaughter Olivia Brook Hagood; and her sisters-in-law, Ann Byrd and Margaret Raikes.

She is survived by: her children, Karla Hagood Payne (Ronnie) and Zachary Ethan Hagood (Carolyn); her grandchildren, Ashley Dalpiaz (Greg), Taylor Brannock (Cody) and Ethan James Hagood; her great grandchildren, Colton Dalpiaz, Jeremiah Dalpiaz, Hallie Brannock and Elle Brannock; her brother C. G. Byrd, Jr.; her siblings-in-law, Robert Raikes, Gerry Waldron (Steve) and Zeke Hagood (Debbie); her pets, Tinkerbell and Mango; and her caregiver Annette Mata. She is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM at the St. Marks Church (1230 St Marks Church Rd, Burlington, NC 27215). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. Mark's Church (1230 St Marks Church Rd, Burlington, NC 27215).

Glenda had a big heart for animals, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Burlington Animal Services, 221 Stone Quarry Rd. Burlington, NC 27217.

“So very sorry to hear this! Glenda was a classmates for many years. She was so attractive, inside and out! I remember her well....such a nice person...and smart, too! In not too many years from now, WHS Class of '59 will have a heck of a reunion, but this time we will hold it in God's Event Center! Asking that God be with each and every family member as you work through her passing!”
