She was predeceased by: her mother Adella Welch; her husband Ismael Rivera; her father John "Doc" Welch; and her siblings, Mildred Bowie (Everette), John "Junior" Welch and Harry Welch.
She is survived by: her family, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Benin, Burundi, France and Nigeria; her children, Patricia Rivera, Kenneth Rivera (Kim) and Roland Rivera (Janice); her grandchildren, Kaley Thompson (Gage), Kristin Dixon (Jacob) and Joshua Rivera; her stepgrandchild Shaun Harmon; and her great grandchildren, Adelina Thompson, Liliana Thompson and Cecilia Thompson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
