She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Burton and Lucille Poteat Burton; and her siblings, Benny Lee Burton, Edith Mae Smith and Beatrice Burton.
She is survived by: her children, Penny Parker (Ralph) of Burlington, Teresa Coble (Reginald) of Burlington, Beverly "Cookie" Tapp of Burlington, LaDeritca Littles of Burlington, Tarris Tapp (Teresa) of Elon and Derick Tapp of Graham. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
