She was predeceased by: her parents, Coy Dunevant and Ester Lou Dunevant; her husband Eurell Chandler Stanfield; her great-aunt Mattie Belle Dunevant; her siblings, Nellie Mae "Nell" Smith (Hilton), Annie Bell Lovelace and Lawrence Dunevant; and her grandson Sebastian Gibson.

She is survived by: her siblings, Coy Dunevant Jr. (Linda) and Shirley Winebarger; her children, Anthony Stanfield (Linda), Debra Elkins (Ted) and Faith Miller (Tony); and her grandchildren, Sydnor Elkins (James Taheny), Adam Stanfield (Christopher Wilson), Alexander Elkins (Emily), Grey Dominguez (Cristina), Allison Whittington (Tiffany Helton), Dustin Miller (Christen), Andrew Stanfield (Samantha), Ashton Stanfield and Dylan Miller. She is also survived by neighbors and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Hilda's name to Gentiva Hospice and Bethel United Christian Church youth group.
