She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Covington and Minnie Corbett Covington; her husband Robert L. Benson; and her siblings, Essue Covington, Benny Covington, Larry A. Covington, Vera Covington Davis and Nora Lee Covington Trollinger.

She is survived by: her sisters, Florine Covington Pollard and Aquanetta Covington. She is also survived by nieces & nephews, cousins and friends.
