He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Watkins and Alice Wade Watkins; his wife Clarice Clapp Watkins; his sons, James Watkins and Garmon Burnette; and his siblings, Shirley Beasley, John W. Watkins (JW) and Ostella Watkins.
He is survived by: his sons, Michael Watkins (Angela) of Burlington, NC, Andy Watkins (Tanya) of Burlington, NC and Tony Watkins of Greensboro, NC; his siblings, Ethel Tarpley (Billy), Betty Alston Pleasant Garden (William), Doretha Tinnin of Mebane, NC, Jessie Watkins (Joann) and Benny; his brother-in-law Clarence; his cousin Sandra Lindsay Vincent; and his grandchildren, Shantal Watkins, Theresa Henderson, Starr Burnette, Tonia Watkins, Tony Leath, Robert Pratt, Erica Leath, Anndria, Preston and Tony Watkins, Jr.. He is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
