It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James David Fries of Burlington, North Carolina, who passed away on June 9, 2024, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Kathy Lee Ecker Fries; his parents, William Fries, Sr. and Bertha Shipley Fries; and his siblings, Gloria Crews, Kevin Fries, Patsy Pilarski and Frances Ford.
He is survived by: his children, Patricia Meisch (Gary) of Asheboro and Robert E. Fries (Amy L.) of Colfax, NC; his grandchildren, Tyler J. Meisch (Maggie), Katherine McGee (Joshua), Joseph J. Fries, Thomas J. Fries, Abigail L. Fries and Nicholas J. Fries; his great grandchild Henry McGee; and his siblings, William Fries, Jr. (Brenda), Pamela Adams, Diana Kappel (William), Linda Shadders (Robert), Daniel Fries (Patty) and Gregory Fries (Christine).
