He was predeceased by: his parents, James Love Brothers and Betty Ruth Overman Brothers; his siblings, Jan Johnson and Johnny; and his grandson Andrew Cheek.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Combs; his children, Mike Brothers (Patty), Lisa Brothers Cheek (Barry) and Kara Brothers; his grandchildren, Jennifer Brothers Weegar (Scott), Laura Brothers Holden (Brian), Lesleigh Ann Roberson (William), Brian Cheek (Casey), Nathan Cheek (Molly), Virginia Cheek and Slater Cheek; and his great grandchildren, Carter Weegar, Conner Weegar, Corbin Caulder, Adeline Caulder, Eleanor Holden and Riley Cheek.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church (2719 Bellemont-Alamance Rd, Burlington, NC 27215). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. The inurnment will be held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 2719 Bellmont-Alamance Road, Burlington, NC.
