He was predeceased by: his parents, Finley Johnson and Etta Roney Johnson; his wife Sadie Slade Johnson; and his sons, James Harrison, Ronnie William Sr. and Dennis Lee Johnson.

He is survived by: his children, Linda Faye and Claven Edward.
