He was predeceased by: his parents, Earlie Lee Harvell and Blanche Scoggins Harvell; his son James Harvell Jr.; and his brothers, Bobby Scoggins, Tommy Scoggins, Billy Scoggins and Earlie Harvell, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Margie Lamm Harvell; his children, Marie Harvell Bowman (Tommy), Renee Harvell Cordero (David), Shelia Harvell Shumaker, Blanche Bowman Maddox (Stuart), Evalina Castillo, Savannah Aranda (Chayo), Scotty Harvell (Callie), Steven Harvell and Troy Harvell (Rhonda); and his siblings, Nancy Worley, Linda Medley, Sylvia Gardner (Harold), Howard Harvell Sr. (Janice) and George Harvell. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory (2205 S Church St, Burlington, NC 27215).
