She was loved and cherished by many people including: her sons, Bill and Gary; her husband William Mitchell, Jr.; her parents, Henry Grady and Sylvia Lemons Smith; her son David Todd Mitchell; her brother Donald Smith; her daughters-in-law, Rena Mitchell of Hillsborough and Kitty Mitchell of Ocracoke; her sister-in-law Norma Loy of Burlington; her daughter-in-law Selina Covington of Kernersville; and her grandchildren, Justin Mitchell of Cary, Matthew Mitchell of Hillsborough, Barbara Rabon, Sara Daniels of Charleston, SC, Steven Mitchell, Amber Mitchell of Kernersville and Katy Mitchell of Ocracoke. She was also cherished by eleven great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
