He is survived by: his wife Alberta Gibson; his children, Troy Gibson, Kathy Lleras (Luis), Debbie Paliaga (Dennis) and Sharie Tomcik (Gary); his grandchildren, Michelle Guimaraes (Tiago), Melissa Johnson (Lee), Allison Creek (James), Bryon Lleras (Danielle), Nicole Bachanov (Eric), Joshua McCulley (Tori), Heather Bingle (Ryan) and Nicholas Tomcik (Michael); and his great grandchildren, Lincoln, Matthew, Ella, Baker, Kylie, Kelsi, Chloe, Luke, Olivia, Oliver, Brody and Kade.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Alamance Memorial Park (4039 S Church St, Burlington, NC 27215).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Joe's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
