It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Everette Mitchell (Burlington, North Carolina), who passed away on July 19, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. As John Everette departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved John Everette. Though John Everette may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Parry Mitchell and Virgie Mae Mitchell. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Nicks Mitchell; his son Larry Mitchell; his grandchildren, Jordan Mitchell of Georgia, Emma Mitchell of Georgia, Jacob Mitchell of Georgia and Grace Mitchell of Georgia; and his daughter Chrissy Cobb (Kevin) of Burlington. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the First Wesleyan Church (304 S Anthony St, Burlington, NC 27215). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
