He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Dickson and E. Ortense Dickson; and his son-in-law Jeff E. Smith. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn W. Dickson; his children, John K. Dickson, Jr. (Lori) and Karen D. Smith; his grandchildren, Katherine Dickson, Matthew Dickson, Ryan Dickson, Nevin Smith and Braeden Smith; his brother George W. Dickson (Brenda); his nephew Scott Dickson; and his niece Holly Hollingsworth.
