He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lemuel and Elia Mae Dunevant Compton; his wife Annie Fuquay Compton; and his siblings, Raph, Hurley, Zellie, Walter Compton, Frances Dameron and Dessie Mae Compton.
He is survived by: his sister Betty Sue Edwards. He is also survived by pet, "Snoopy" and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
