He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Brown and Lucy Ellison Brown; his wife Carolyn Hensley Brown; and his sister Nora Foster. He is survived by: his children, Dana Brown (Tonya Barham) and Lola York (Lee); his grandchildren, Blake Brown (Briana), Luke Brown and Ely York; his great grandchildren, Thomas Brown, Aubrey Brown and Vivian Brown; and his sister Marjorie Dale (Ezra). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
In lieu of flowers, Johnnys family greatly appreciates any memorials made to the family that will help with his final medical care while at UNC.
