He was predeceased by: his parents, Van Winningham and Pearl Petty Winningham; and his son Jay Womack. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Herndon Winningham; his daughter Kim Winspear (Jamie); his daughter-in-law Cathy Womack; his grandchildren, Alice Winspear, Daniel Womack (Katy), Jeffrey Womack (Lauren) and Lauren Miller (Kutter); and his great grandchildren, Star, Irie, Jack, James, Connor, Brighton, Palmer and Stella.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 400 South Broad Street, Burlington, NC 27215.
