She is survived by: her mother Glenda Ligon Beckler; her son Christopher Burgess (Ashley); her grandchildren, Devin Burgess, Nolan Hoffner and Ansley Hoffner; and her siblings, Diane Norris and Christopher Beckler (Erica). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other beloved relatives.

In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates memorials made in Joyce's memory to Open Bible Baptist Church or Triad Fellowship in Gibsonville.
