He was predeceased by: his parents, Terry Mac Smith and Maggie Beckom Smith; and his siblings, Allen Smith, Ross Smith, JC Smith, Dan Smith, Pete Smith, Mac Smith Ross, Margaret Todd, Betsy Albright, Mary Jane Pettigrew and Mildred Madren.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Moore Smith; his children, Amy Smith Simmons (Mark) and Matthew William Smith (Michelle); his grandsons, Bryce Nathaniel Simmons (Madison), Harrison William Smith (Elle) and Hunter Michael Smith; his great grandchild Hudson Roy Simmons; his granddaughter Brittany Gerringer (Brian); his great grandchild Aubrey Gerringer; and his brother-in-law Charles Moore. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to AuthoraCare Collective Hospice Home of Burlington located at 914 Chapel Hill Rd, Burlington, NC 27215.
