It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ellen Douglas of Burlington, North Carolina, who passed away on September 26, 2024, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Mary departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Mary may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Mary leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gracie Bell Cain McAdams and James Monroe McAdams; and her siblings, Jimmy McNeil, Robert McNeil, Annie Lumpkin and Lois McAdams.
She is survived by: her siblings, Tommy McAdams (Sandy) of Burlington, N. C., Emma Southern (Jimmy) of Greensboro, N. C. and Pearley Davis of Burlington, N. C.; and her brother-in-law Jay Francis of Chicago. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
