“Just to start off, Mary was a very sweet person! She had been "best" friends with my wife, Dee, since their grammar school days at Maple Avenue School in the latter 1940's. I came into the picture at a "sock hop" during my Sophomore year at Walter Williams High School back in the fall of 1957. Mary and several other of her close friends (like Lynda Wheeley and Linda Elkins) coaxed me into dancing with Dee....a Freshman girl I had never met before that night. Thank you Mary for....forever!”
