She is survived by: her parents, Nannie Brown and Wilbur Williams; her husband Thomas Akinwumi; her sister Nanette Jackson; her daughters, La'Shella Williams, Shakima Ventour, Takesia Martinez-Ortiz and LaNette Ventour; her grandchildren, Tayshaun Poole, Noelia Estrada-Ventour and Alex Fuentes-Ventour; and her sister-in-law Marvaelyn Coopeland.
