She was predeceased by: her parents, Hugh Sumpter and Lucile Sumpter; and her siblings, Douglas Sumpter and Peggy Amsden. She is survived by: her son Jean-Paul; her daughter-in-law Leslee Barfield; and her sibling's children, Jackie Fagan, Paula Hall (Jeff) and Mark Amsden (Sherry).

Nancy donated her body to the Virginia State Anatomical Program.
