She was predeceased by : her parents, William McKinley Mitchell and Katherine Lelia Hall Mitchell; her spouse Kemp McKinley Loy, Sr.; her son Kemp "Kenny" Loy, Jr.; her grandson Kirk Vincent; and her siblings, Jessie Mitchell, Alma Mitchell and Doris Smith.

She is survived by : her daughters, Karen Bullard, Susan Loy and Lisa Wright (Dickie); her grandchildren, Paul Loy (Bobbie), Amy Whitfield (Lonnie) and Jason Pope; her brother William "Bill" McKinley Mitchell, Jr.; and her extended family Kim Vincent. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Friendship Church (4612 Friendship Patterson Mill Rd, Burlington, NC 27215). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the Friendship Church Cemetery (4612 Friendship Patterson Mill Rd, Burlington, NC 27215).
