She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Winfred and Lena Wyrick Thomas; her husband Jack A. Newnam; her siblings, Larry Thomas, Jean Hart and Jeanette Farrior; and her brother-in-law Kin Patterson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Penny Yarbro (Harlan) of Burlington and Sandy Williams (Darrell) of Sanford; her grandchildren, Tyson Williams (Regina), Shane Williams (Vicky) and Chelsea Williams Marks (Zach); her sisters, Helen Patterson and Brenda Clayton; her great grandchildren, Brady and Nina Williams; and her sister-in-law Bea Thomas. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
