He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Emerson and Edith Severance Andrews; and his brothers, Frank (Ann) and Bryant Andrews (Betsy). He is survived by: his wife Cate Andrews; his sons, Lyle Andrews and Bruce Andrews (Tobi); and his former wife Linda Fitch. He is also survived by niece, nephews, three great nieces and one great nephew.
With the help of many graduate students, he published numerous papers and had grants from the National Science Foundation.
