It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rachel Davis Hunt in Burlington, North Carolina, born in Raleigh, North Carolina, who passed away on May 17, 2026, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Wallace Davis and Julia Lois Pruit Davis; her brothers, Bennis Harold Davis and Charlie Young (CY); her husband Haywood J. Hunt; and her son Derrick.
She is survived by: her children, Marty and Cheryl Fox (Mike); her grandchildren, Matthew L. Fox and Morgan F. Pearce (Tyler); her great grandchildren, Lincoln Pearce, Lando Pearce, Charlie Pearce of Chapel Hill and Dovie Pearce of Chapel Hill; and her sisters, Janell White of Fuquay-Varina and Marjie Prince of Duncan.
