He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Marcelia Ingle Payne and William Ollie Payne; and his siblings, William Ralph Payne, Richard Calvin Payne, James Franklin Payne and Edith Elizabeth Payne Conklin.
He is survived by: his wife Shannon Hynes Payne; his daughter Tracy Payne Boyd (David Harley Boyd); and his grandsons, Jack Rierson Boyd and Payne Harley Boyd. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
