He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sidney and Glady Nolan Goodson; his wife Virginia Warren Florence "Jenny" Goodson; his daughter Phyllis Lea Goodson; and his sister Shirley G. Helm.
He is survived by: his daughter Annette G. Barker (Sid); his grandchildren, Edward Lee Whitman, Tabitha and Kristi Lewis (JW); his stepgranddaughter Kimberly Jernigan (Donnie); his great grandchildren, Anniston Lewis and Hunter Whitman; his siblings, Joanne Haizlip (Leonard) and Tommy Goodson (Sue); and his brother-in-law Kenneth Helm. He is also survived by 6 step great grandchildren.
