She was predeceased by: her parents, Mildred Fuller Jones and Raleigh Frank Jones; her husband Arthur Harvey Whitsett; her son Jesse James Hatfield III; and her close friend Charles Curry.
She is survived by: her children, Stella Kay Hatfield and Willie Frank Hatfield; her adoptive daughters, Jasmine Lyons and Jamaya Whitsett; and her siblings, Stanley Jones, Jimmie Jones, Pearl Gwynn, Susan Harris, Betty Jones Haith, Dorethea Rogers, Mattie Burnside and Hazel Spruill. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Blackwell Funeral Home (1292 Rauhut St, Burlington, NC 27217). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. Due to COVID-19 AND OTHER VIRUSES FACE MASK are advised for Services.
