He was predeceased by: his mother Vickie Elaine Roney Shepherd; and his sister Dawn Shepherd. He is survived by: his father Roy Lee Shepherd, Sr.; his children, Doug Shepherd (Rhonda), Brad Shepherd (Kendra Lineberry) and Kensly Shepherd; his grandchildren, Layla Grace Shepherd, Amberlyn Shepherd, Makaylyn Shepherd, Braeley Shepherd and Hadleigh Carnes; and his brothers, Eddie Oliver (Patsy), Kim Oliver (Kay), Shawn Oliver (Kim), Scott Oliver (Jennifer) and Randy Lowe (Rachel).
