He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Thompson and Virginia Fuller Thompson; and his sister Emma Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Sallie Mae Thompson of Elon; his daughters, Eunice Richmond (Kerry) of Graham, Virginia "PeeWee" Thompson of Burlington and Angela "Bit" (Tony) of Gibsonville; his siblings, Russell Thompson (Emma) of Green Level, Harold Thompson of Burlington, Gloria Bigelow of Gibsonville and Susan Ramsey (Donnell) of Siler City; and his mother-in-law Eunice Breeze Watlington. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
