He was predeceased by: his wife Clarice Allred Parsons; his parents, Samuel Thomas Parsons, Sr. and Thelma Louise Parsons; his son Edwin Carlyle Parsons; and his siblings, Peggy Spears, Becky Adams, Kay Wilson and Robert Parsons (Bobby Jo).
He is survived by: his daughter Frankie Parsons Newlin (Boyd Newlin); his grandchildren, Shannon Newlin (Beth) and April Isaacs (Terry); his daughter-in-law Lee Parsons; his grandson Logan Parsons (Meredith); and his sister Carolyn Parsons Cook. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
