She was predeceased by: her parents, Silas Lacy Brooks and Etta Susan Poteat Brooks; and her husband Currie Wayne Clayton, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Deborah Lynne McQueen, Tina Marie Melvin (Ronnie), Donald "Donnie" Dixon (Colette), Joyce Fangman (Don), Jill Rene Dunn (Tony) and Currie Wayne Clayton, Jr.; her siblings, Sandra LaMontagne (Art), Susan Lester (Bob), Vickie Miller (Lambert) and Mickey Brooks; her pet Panda; her former husband Robert Donald Dixon; her brothers, Curtis Brooks and Bill Brooks; and her pet Zoe. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory (2205 S Church St, Burlington, NC 27215). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (712 S Williamson Ave, Elon, NC 27244). A burial will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Haw River Cemetery.
