It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Catherine Hawkins of Burlington, North Carolina, born in Indianapolis, Indiana, who passed away on December 31, 2022, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Barbara Hawkins; and her husband Sampson McArthur Johnson. She is survived by: her daughter Shaneka; her grandchildren, Jaziah, Nyamekye, Jywan, Jyshon and Jamayca; and her great grandchildren, Ny'Yahn and Nei'Yahvi. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
