He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Canto and Mary Scerbo Canto; and his siblings, Louis Canto, Jean Poole and Rachel Rhoads.

He is survived by: his wife Marie Canto; his children, Nancy Georgiades (Constantine) and Thomas Canto (Mary) of Wilbraham, MA; his brother Richard Canto (Linda) of Milltown, NJ; his grandchildren, Lauren Keeney (Thomas) of Wisconsin, Benjamin Georgiades of Tampa, FL and Thomas Canto, Jr. of Winston-Salem; and his great grandchildren, Leland Keeney, Callum Keeney and Margot Keeney.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
