He is survived by: his wife Linda Hackney McVey; his daughters, Amber Allen (Josh) of Burlington and Stacey Lassiter (Rob) of Chapel Hill; and his grandchildren, Maddrie "Maddy" Allen, Gentry Allen, Elana Lassiter, Bo of Bear, B. D. and Dutchess.
