He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Dare Armstrong Montgomery; his parents, George Winfred Montgomery and Della M. Porter Montgomery; his daughter Deanna Montgomery Catlett; his granddaughter Kelly Kirkpatrick Lee; and his siblings, George Montgomery (Buddy) and Sharon Montgomery.
He is survived by: his son Freeman Montgomery (Lonnie); his stepdaughter Terri Bowman; his grandson-in-law Joe Lee; his grandchildren, Tammy Kirkpatrick, Stacy Kirkpatrick, Justin Kirkpatrick (Casey), Dustin Wynn and Angel Catlett; his great grandchildren, Landon Scarlett, Trent Lee, Dylan Lee, Liam Lee and Logan Kirkpatrick; and his caregivers, Debbie, Trudy, Aaron, Johnnie, Linda, Carol, Terri and Gwen.
