We are sad to announce that on March 21, 2025, at the age of 72, Vanessa Corpening of Burlington, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Vanessa may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Vanessa touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gaither Hendrix Sr. and Kathleen Dula Hendrix; her daughter Jasmin Corpening; and her sister Yvonne Hendrix. She is survived by: her daughter Darsha Corpening; her grandchildren, Sharmare Corpening, Mykkyh Corpening and Jurnee Corpening; her siblings, Jacquelyn Harris of Lenoir, NC, Mavis Thorpe (Juan), Gaither Hendrix Jr. (Stephanie) and Benjamin Hendrix Amersfoort (Irene); and her son Kartier Whitted. She is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews.
