He was predeceased by: his parents, C. C. Hilliard, Sr. and Ethel Harris Hilliard; his son Geoffrey William Hilliard, MD; and his brothers, C. C. Jr., Zeke, Fitch and Melvin.
He is survived by: his spouse Osyth Mason "Toosey" Hilliard; his children, Steven Hilliard of Knoxville, TN, Katrina Parnell of High Point, Jane Rahm of Burlington and Robin Thomas of Burlington; and his sisters, Blanche, Hazel, Bertie, Lola and Frankie. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
