He was predeceased by: his parents, Jasper McBroom and Adean McBroom; his sister Hattie Mae McBroom Clough; his children, Carl McBroom and Paula Heyward; his granddaughter Aleeta Stephenson; and his great grandchild Jayla McBroom.
He is survived by: his daughter Phyllis McBroom Stephenson (Alfred) of Pennsylvania; his daughter-in-law Sharon McBroom; his grandchildren, Shekita McBroom and Billy Heyward; his great grandchildren, Shekyla McBroom Tymus (Avery) and Briana McBroom; and his great great grandchildren, J'ream and Journee'McBroom. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, extended relatives and dear friends.
Viewing was held on Sunday, January 11th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sharpe Funeral Home (520 Rosenwald St, Burlington, NC 27217). Visitation was held on Monday, January 12th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Green Level Church (2510 Green Level Church Rd, Burlington, NC 27217). A burial was held on Monday, January 12th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
