He was predeceased by: his wife Leola Mapp Reid; and his parents, James Reid, Sr. and Bertha Upsher Reid. He is survived by: his children, Vickie R. Corbett (Calvin) of Greensboro, James L. Reid, III of Burlington, Kirk A. Reid (Heylin) of Nicaragua and Burke M. Reid of Sedalia; his sister Bertha Mae Madden of Greensboro; and his sister-in-law Dorothy M. Oliver of Burlington. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
