He was predeceased by: his parents, Lealon Buchanan and Marie Howell Buchanan; his son-in-law Clayton Troy Autrey; and his father-in-law Ulysis Pitman. He is survived by: his daughter Finley; his wife Cynthia Buchanan; his daughter Lauren Buchanan of Spruce Pine, NC; his siblings, Duane Buchanan (Linda), Kimberly Buchanan of Arbuckle and Michelle Buchanan of Arbuckle; his niece Allisyn Smith (Aaron) of Arbuckle; his great-nephew Lachlan Smith of Arbuckle; and his mother-in-law Vera Pitman of Spruce Pine.
