He is survived by: his wife Linda F. Hensley; his daughters, Glenda Smith (Tony) of Burnsville and Kathy George Woody of Bald Creek; his grandchildren, Sarah Slater, Amanda Frady (Travis), Kayla McCurry, Isaiah McCurry, Summer Hensley (Josh), Jeffrey George, Elijah Woody George, Savannah Slater, Alex McMahan and Brittany George; and his sister Vertie Lou Carver of Shelby. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Yancey Funeral Services (378 Charlie Brown Rd, Burnsville, NC 28714).
