He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Nell, Arthur Ball, Brown and Muriel Grindstaff. He is survived by: his parents, Ricky Lee Turner (Karen) and Daphne Grindstaff Vinson (Cliff); his siblings, Dustin Turner (Brinkley), Alexa Turner, Alyssa Turner and Addison Turner; and his aunt Wilma Jean Ball. He is also survived by several extended family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 1st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Banks Creek Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Derick's honor to the Yancey County Humane Society located at, 211 Kind Hearts Way, Burnsville, NC 28714, in memory of his love and compassion for animals.
