Deward E. Barrier Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on June 17, 2022, at the age of 83, Deward E. Barrier (Burnsville, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Amos Barrier and Bertie Barrier; his siblings, Arlee Barrier, Clyde Barrier and Dorothy Gouge; and his sister-in-law Sudie Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Stroup Barrier of Jonas Ridge; his children, David Barrier (Amber), Sam Barrier (Miranda) of Jonas Ridge, Karen Calhoun (Randy) of Hanging Rock and Becky Wallace (Emory) of Boone; his grandsons, Cody, Allen, Dillon Barrier (Brittany), Jordan, Jake and Josh Calhoun; his great grandchildren, Blaze Calhoun and Natalie Erber; his sister Ruth Buchanan; his mother-in-law Pauline Stroup of Newland; and his sister-in-law Joy Filice (Tony) of Morganton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
